We have a "burning bush" in the backyard, which displays beautiful red leaves in autumn and attractive red berries thereafter. I wanted to capture a series "birds 'n berries" with snow on the bush.
Some of the birds, given their various behaviors, are much harder to capture in the midst of the dense berries. The cardinals are cautious, so they shield themselves more, and move more slowly through the bush. Junco's too. Nothing "national geo" in this set, but I had fun doing it... maybe you'll have fun viewing.
For you photographers: All shot with a Nikon Z8 and Nikon 600mm PF/ 1.4TC @ 840mm, 1/2000sec, f/9 (ie, f/6.3+TC), in manual mode, wide-area AF, bird subject detection, spot-metered, auto-iso... with a little negative EC on selected shots.
Cheers!
Jerry
